木 偶 大 师 徐 竹 初

徐竹初，由弘一法师所命名，国务院特殊津贴专家，国家一级美术师，中国艺术研究院研究员，漳州竹初木偶艺术馆艺术总监、馆长，是闻名海内外杰出的木偶艺术大师。

大文豪郭沫若题词称赞他的作品：“木偶头神情逼真生动”，著名美术理论权威王朝闻著文评价说：“看了徐竹初的作品能普遍引起华夏子孙的自豪感”，著名雕塑大师刘开渠赞扬他的作品：“精雕细刻、入木三分”，著名戏剧大师张庚赞他的作品“栩栩如生”，著名戏剧大师翁偶虹题诗赞道：“傀儡登场假胜真，镂雕妙技巧通神，凭君地母天公手，展现千姿百态人。”

经历1000多年的世代相传，形成了以他为代表的漳州木偶雕刻艺术，也产生了闻名世界的“漳州竹初木偶”品牌，在他不断的创新发展中，已创作出各种木偶造型六百多种，他的作品曾在中国美术馆及世界100多个国家和地区巡回专展并获奖，美术出版社出版了他的作品专著画册，他的艺术成就被拍摄有十几部电影、电视专题片，他还为三十多部木偶艺术电影片和电视剧设计并制作木偶，作品还多次做为国家的珍贵礼品赠送给许多国家首脑和贵宾，世界上许多国家和地区的美术馆、博物馆及艺术家、名人都大量收藏有他的作品并给予高度评价，称他的作品是“东方艺术珍品”、“世界一流艺术”、“活的‘文物'”、“中华一绝”，并以拥有他的作品为荣，称他为“国宝级雕刻艺术家”，他还传授培养了一大批海内外木偶艺术人才，为弘扬祖国优秀传统文化艺术做出了杰出贡献。

A Master in Puppet Designing and Carving ---- Mr. Xu Zhuchu

Mr. Xu Zhuchu, whose name was given by the famous rabbi Hongyi, is a world widely known master in puppet designing and carving. He is the general art supervisor and curator of Zhuchu Puppet Gallery of Zhanghou. Bing one of the few experts who receive special subsidies from the State Department, he is also known as a research fellow of the China Art Institute and a top-rank artist of China.

Mr. Xu has been complimented by many celebrities in China. The famous Chinese writer Guo Moruo commented on his works as “bearing vivid facial expression”. Wang Chaowen, an art theory authority, said that “most Chinese would feel proud of their motherland after looking at Mr. Xu's works.”
The well-known sculptor Liu Kaiqu praised his carving skills as being “delicate and penetrating”. And the famous dramatist Zhang Geng made compliments on his works as being “lifelike”. Another renowned dramatist Weng Ouhong sang his praises in the following words, “The amazing carving skills give life to the puppets on stage. They look just like real persons. Only a master hand can create such a variety of lifelike puppets.”

Puppet carving skills in Zhangzhou can be traced back to more than 1,000 years and have been passed down from generation to generation. Being a decedent of this craftship, Mr. Xu has combined the traditional skills with his own renovations and gradually formed his distinctive style. The well-known puppet brand “Zhuchu Puppet of Zhangzhou” is exactly a brand with his style as its representation.

So far, Mr. Xu has created more than 500 new types of puppets. His works have won various prices and been exhibited in China Art Museum and many other museums in more than 100 countries. A collection of his works has been published by China Fine Arts Publishing Group. He has also designed and carved puppets for more than 30 puppet movies and television programs. What's more, his works have been given as gifts to top-rank officials and honored guests from aboard and collected by art galleries, museums, and personal collectors all over the world. High remarks have been given to them such as “a treasure of Eastern art”, “a top-rank art of the world”, “a live ‘cultural relic'”, and “a Chinese specialty”. His stories have also been shot into a dozen of movies and television programs. Besides being a master in designing and carving puppets, Mr. Xu is also an excellent teacher. He has students from both home and aboard, some of whom have also become masters in this filed. His efforts helped a lot in promoting traditional Chinese arts.

徐强，出生于木偶艺术世家，专于木偶艺术。致力于使传统艺术发挥出新时代更强的生命力。使具有悠久的历史、精美的造型而享誉世界的竹初木偶艺术发扬光大。

他继承创作了500多种的木偶造型，具有很高的艺术性和观赏性，其独特的艺术手法，丰富的性格化造型，精细的雕刻艺术，有戏曲人物生旦净末丑诸行当尽皆齐全，即有古典小说中的人物，又有神话传说中的神仙、魔怪等形象，个个脸谱不同、神态各异，活龙活现、栩栩如生，富有性格特征，展现了中华民族优秀的传统文化艺术魅力。作品曾应邀在中国美术馆及美国、英国、俄罗斯、法国、德国、日本、澳大利亚、韩国、新加坡、瑞典、香港、台湾等100多个国家和地区巡回专展，世界上许多国家和地区的美术馆、博物馆及艺术家、收藏家、名人均有收藏大量的作品。设计制作的作品还被作为国家的珍贵礼品赠送给世界许多国家的首脑和贵宾。设计的木偶造型先后获得20多次国家专利。

徐惠卿简介

出生于木偶艺术世家，是中国唯一的一位女性木偶雕刻造型设计师，她创作设计的古代女造型生动而传神，赋于数不清的传统美女造型的生命设计的各种神态的古代人物造型，充分体现了中华传统艺术造型的美，她设计制作的古代绣品，戏剧服装以做工精美，刺绣高超而享誉海内外，深受各国艺术的好评。她的作品不但为艺术家们所喜爱和收藏，还做为礼品赠受给中外友好人士，并在国内外的许多国家和地区展览。设计的木偶造型先后获得20多次国家专利。
